Alpaca and Llama Treks

It’s not often you get a chance to walk an alpaca or a llama – and that’s exactly why West Wight Alpacas started offering the treks. We adore these animals so much – their plodding, playful nature and inquisitive intelligence, we knew an awful lot of children and adults alike would reap the same joy.

So for a truly memorable experience, you can soak up the scenic splendour of the Isle of Wight, leading your very own alpaca (with guide in tow). With over 70% of our Island an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), you’ll be enjoying a unique adventure in beautiful surrounds. Our popular trek over Headen Warren spans the most dynamic panoramic views across the Island and beyond the Solent.

Treks start mid-morning or early afternoon so pick a time that suits and pre-book. First we introduce you to your animal, then we talk you through how to handle them. It’s that easy. And you’ll have fun along the way learning about these unique animals. Once you’re happy, we set off on our trek – and that means its time for you to take the lead. Any dogs need to be left behind and remember to wear sensible walking shoes. By the end of the trek, be prepared to have gained one new four-legged friend.
